All kids are required to wear shoes that tie (no crocks, sandals, flip flops or boots.) Ensure they have a water bottle and any additional items they need such as an inhaler. They should be in comfortable clothing that allows them to stretch and bend. If your child requires additional attention or has restrictions, please let us know.
Technically no, but it is STRONGLY SUGGESTED! Depending on class size or activities we do that day, we may want to take them to the walking track or the basketball court. They do not need a membership if we are only staying in the class but I very much forecast we will be leaving the class at some point soon. They do require a membership if they go anywhere else in the center such as weight room, walking track, and basketball court.
Not. At. All. This is a commonly circulated myth from years ago. Weightlifting is great for any age as long as it's done safely in a supervised environment. When children lift weights, they build stronger muscles, stronger bones, helps prevent injuries, creates better motor skills, and helps with weight management. All these together also help build a stronger confidence level, positive body image, and improved focus!
100% yes! At Grit Strength Fitness, we prioritize a safe and effective teaching method that builds their confidence. We strictly monitor exercise form and correct it as needed. The program focuses on fun, confidence, and personal improvement. This is not a bodybuilding program. We aren't interested in seeing how much an 8yr old can squat or deadlift. We are interested in building healthy habits. At no point will the kids be in a lifting competition against each other.
